NVQ Level 2 In Hairdressing

This qualification will assist you in attaining a sound knowledge of hairdressing and will include some of the following subjects;

•  Style and dress hair
•  Give a positive impression of yourself and your    organisation
• Promote additional products and services to    clients
• Develop and maintain your effectiveness at     work
•  Shampooing and conditioning hair and scalp
•  Colouring
•  Perming and neutralising
•  Health & safety practices in the salon
•  Client consultation and advice
•  Reception skills

NVQ Level 3 In Hairdressing

This qualification extends the knowledge gained during the Level 2 course and involves other areas of responsibility in the salon such as;

•  Advanced cutting, colouring & perming techniques
•  Long hair styling
•  Promotional activities
•  Artistic events
•  Improving performance in the salon

Apprenticeships

Much of your time will be in a working salon gaining practical hairdressing experience – in addition you will attend our academy for one day per week to experience additional training activities with our trainers and apprentices from other salons. Our training team will also visit your salon to monitor and review your training progress with your employer.

A Modern Apprenticeship includes:
• City & Guilds Qualification – Level 2
• Key Skills in Communication & Application of Number
• Employer's rights and responsibilities
• Duration 2 years
• Goverment funding available

An Advanced Modern Apprentceship includes:
• City & Guilds Qualification – Level 2 & 3
• Key Skills in Communication & Application of Number
• Employer's rights and responsibilities
• Duration 18 months
• Government funding available

A Young Apprenticeship includes:
• Diploma in hairdressing level 2
• Key Skills in working with others and improving own learning
• Duration 2 Academic years
• Government funding available

Assesor Awards (A1) & (A2):
• Level 3 award in assessing candidates using a range of methods
• Duration 6 months
